Documentary Photography
With cameras in cell phones, everyone’s a photographer today so we’re all capable of documenting our own lives. But sometimes you want someone else to take the photos for you. Sometimes you want that person to be a professional. That was my job for 36 years at University of Wisconsin-Extension and the Wisconsin 4-H Office – documenting people, places, things, and events as historic moments in time.
I take a photojournalist’s approach to my work. I treat each job as a photo story that might appear in Life, that great photo magazine of old, where each photo story had a beginning, middle, and ending presented through a series of powerful images. Check out my photo website, www.brabenderphoto.smugmug.com, for more samples of my work.

Photo Scanning and Editing
Have scanner, will scan! I own a 9 x 14 inch Epson V700 flatbed scanner that does a remarkable job of capturing the fading details of prints, negatives, and slides. I also have years of experience with Photoshop and Lightroom editing software. Together, my scanner and I can often breathe new life into old images.
Photo Destination
The Old Brabender Place is available to commercial photographers as a location for photo shoots and filming. Contact me for rates and details.
