Welcome to Brabender Farm

The Old Brabender Place is more than just a website. It’s a picturesque 120-acre farm in the quaint village of Ashton, Wisconsin, only 10 miles northwest of Madison, our state capital.

My name is Wayne Brabender. I live here and grew up here with my five siblings, just like my dad and his dad before him. My great grandparents, Christian and Cecelia Brabender, started it in 1858.

My younger sister and I own the farm now. We represent our family’s fourth generation. Since 2012 we’ve been restoring its buildings. We're proud of our progress and feel blessed to be here. Look around and you'll see small family farms like ours disappearing every day. We're determined to be good stewards of this historic place, preserve it, and share it with family, friends, and anyone who loves rural life.

Enjoy your visit.
